Our Story
An Independent Hotel
since 2003
Brookstreet is not a flag on a chain. It opened in 2003 on the western edge of Canada’s capital region, earned its CAA/AAA Four-Diamond rating that same year, and has held it since. That independence is the reason we can build your wedding around you rather than around a corporate template.
Independent, and What That Actually Means
It means the person planning your wedding can say yes. There is no head office to check with about a menu substitution, no brand standard dictating what a ballroom has to look like, no template your day has to fit into. Decisions get made here, by the people who will be in the building on your wedding day.
It also means the standard is ours to keep. A four-diamond rating held since the year we opened is not something a property coasts into — it is inspected, and it is earned again every year.
A Resort That Can Also Run a 500-Person Event
Few properties in the region do both. On one side: Au Naturel Spa, contemporary dining at Perspectives Restaurant, live music at Options Jazz Lounge, indoor and seasonal outdoor saltwater pools, and the golf course next door at The Marshes. On the other: three ballrooms, an outdoor pavilion, and a banquet operation that runs conferences and galas for hundreds every week of the year.
Your wedding gets the amenities of the first and the machinery of the second. The reason a room turns over cleanly between your ceremony and your dinner is that our team does it constantly.
Where We Are, and Why It Suits a Wedding
525 Legget Drive, Kanata — wooded grounds, a golf course, the Gatineau Hills on the horizon, and downtown Ottawa about twenty minutes away. Close enough that guests can see the capital. Far enough that your photographs do not have a parking garage in them.
We are also the Official Hotel of the Ottawa Senators and the Canadian Tire Centre, with a complimentary shuttle to the arena — which turns out to be surprisingly useful on a wedding weekend.
be you
Our mission is a simple one and it applies to a wedding more than anything else we do: to make a four-diamond stay feel less like a hotel and more like a refined home-away-from-home — a place where you can simply be you.
Weddings expose the difference between service that is correct and service that is attentive. A room set exactly to plan is the minimum. Noticing that your grandmother has been standing for ten minutes, and finding her a chair before she asks, is the job.
